FAQ

Fair questions

The things people actually ask us, answered straight.

Do I have to be a member to ride?

No. Community rides are free and open to everyone. Membership supports the club and unlocks perks — join whenever it feels right.

How fast are the rides, really?

Every listing shows distance, pace, and terrain. "Party pace" is conversational; "no-drop" means we regroup and sweep. If you can ride the distance with breaks, you can ride with us.

What bike do I need?

For road rides, any road-worthy bike. For gravel, 38mm tires or wider will make you happier. For everything: working brakes and a helmet.

What happens if the weather turns?

Ride leaders make a call by 7 AM on ride morning, posted where the ride was announced. Our Conditions page has live Catskills weather and air quality anytime.

What's The Borderlands?

Our flagship team adventure — 115 miles of gravel out of Hancock with a route revealed only to confirmed teams. It's an adventure, not a race, and it's the best day of our year.

How do I hear about rides?
