Safety & etiquette

Ride hard,
ride right

These mountains give us empty roads, long descents, and small towns that wave back. Keeping it that way is on all of us.

On the road

The rules we ride by

Group

Hold your line

Ride predictably, call hazards, point the potholes. Two abreast where legal, single-file when traffic needs by.

Descents

Descend in control

Mountain descents are earned, not raced. Gaps open, speed is yours to choose, and we regroup at the bottom.

Neighbors

Small-town manners

Wave, yield, keep the paceline off Main Street. Slow way down for horses, walkers, and gravel driveways.

Weather

Check conditions

Fog, frost, and fast storms are features here. Check the Conditions page before every ride; leaders make a weather call by 7 AM.

Navigation

Ride self-sufficient

Cell service is a rumor in the hollows. Load the route offline and carry what you'd need to fix a flat alone.

Always

Helmets, lights, ID

Helmet every ride. Daytime lights on open roads. ID and an emergency contact on you.

Cycling carries inherent risk. You ride at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety, equipment, and decisions.

Ride invites go out by email
