New rider guide

Your first ride

Nervous about showing up? Everyone was, once. Here's the honest version of what to expect — and why you'll be fine.

The essentials

What to bring

01

A working bike

Any bike that fits the ride. Tires pumped, brakes braking. That's the bar.

02

Helmet

Non-negotiable, every ride, no exceptions.

03

Flat kit + water

Tube, levers, pump or CO2. Two bottles in summer. We'll help you use them.

04

Snacks & a few bucks

Mountain miles are hungry miles, and there's always a café stop.

The real questions

Will I get dropped?

No. That's the whole point of no-drop.

Community rides regroup at marked spots and a sweep rider stays at the back. The group waits. Nobody rides alone unless they want to.

Do I need to be fast?

You need to be able to ride the listed distance at a conversational pace, with breaks. If you're not sure, come to a Gravel Social first — it's the friendliest ride we run.

Do I need to be a member?

Nope. Ride with us as long as you like. Membership is there when you want to support the club and grab the perks.
